Working with us

THC is a relationally focused organisation. THC provides an environment and atmosphere, for people with ethical and professional spirit, to positively engage with the CORE, in delivering quality service to people with disability.
We define the CORE as – the challenge, opportunity, reward, and energy connected to working within the THC service network.

Employment requirements

The Housing Connection does not require entry level workers to necessarily have formal credentials, provided they can demonstrate they meet the essential criteria for the position. The primary requirement is a demonstrated commitment to the values and ethos of THC. However, we do require workers without qualifications to enrol in the Cert IV Disability which is offered through THC.
Each role has its own position description and employment criteria.
Anyone who wishes to work at THC is required to undertake a Criminal Records Check.

Disability standards

All employees are required to abide by the National Disability Standards which are:

  1. Rights
  2. Participation and inclusion
  3. Individual outcomes
  4. Feedback and complaints
  5. Service access
  6. Service management.

Selection on merit

The Housing Connection abides by the principles of Equal Opportunity Employment. Individuals are selected on the basis of merit alone.
Utmost care is taken to match individuals we support with Social Educators who understand their needs and their aspirations and can enable them to fulfil their goals. Under the principles of individualised support, a person can choose not to have a particular support worker.
