THC is seeking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST for new developments in Roseville, Normanhurst & Kellyville.

The Housing Connection (THC) is family to Shane, and has been for many years. Shane is 50 years old today and has moved homes more times than anybody should have to, mainly due to his complex needs and it can be a challenge to match people in share homes. Shane has just moved into a new temporary house, we have built an personalised individual support team around him and he is doing well living on his own with THC support.

We have, with a lot of work and with some luck we found a temporary home for Shane, but this home is old and Shane needs underfloor insulation and carpet to keep him warm. Help us give Shane what he needs.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has introduced a temporary measure to further support participants during the COVID-19 pandemic, with those in lockdown areas no longer needing to use their support funding to pay someone to cook and shop for them.

Minister pauses plan for mandatory NDIS assessments
The new NDIS Minister Linda Reynolds has announced her intention to pause the roll out of Independent Assessments (IAs).

Reynolds says that IAs will not be rolled out until second pilot is finished and evaluated, and she has had an opportunity to consult with stakeholders across the country.

The NSW Government has launched Dine & Discover NSW to encourage the community to get out and about and support dining, arts and tourism businesses.

All NSW residents aged 18 and over can now apply for 4 x $25 vouchers, worth $100 in total.

You can continue to access temporary COVID response core funding for Support Coordination. This was due to end in 28 February and now extended to 31 March 2021. have all other organisations involved delivering services into the sector.

It has been a privilege to serve on the Board of THC during the past year. The impact of the COVID‑19 virus has affected us, as well as our community. In many ways, our organisation has faced challenging circumstances, as have all other organisations involved delivering services into the sector.

People who have returned from anywhere overseas are required to self-isolate for 14 days. During this time, you should monitor your health closely. If you develop symptoms including a fever and cough, you should seek medical attention, remembering to call ahead.

We have been actively seeking the details about how assistive technology can be accessed from NDIA plans, following this announcement from NDIA almost two weeks ago. The following details were released yesterday on the NDIA website and are included below for your information…
