In addition to supporting people at home and in the community, The Housing Connection provides work-related support. Our aim is always to encourage people to build their independence and to attain the best quality of life. Some people we support have everyday needs, others may have quite complex needs. We work particularly well with people who need assistance with social communication and interactions.
We have a strong track record of supporting people with diverse needs to find work, to undertake training and to develop work related skills which help secure sustainable employment.
We provide opportunities for each person to develop the skills and experience they need to find and keep a job. Not just any job – our approach is to tailor the support we provide to the individual and to help each person find a job they enjoy.
Many participants we assist don’t identify as having a disability. Instead of focussing on disability we prefer to look at identifying strengths and overcoming barriers. We help participants to gain the social skills which are a key part of employment. We often work with people on the autism spectrum and those with social anxiety, depression or people who need help with confidence and/or other challenges that can be a barrier to getting work-ready
Our aim is to support a wide range of people to find and keep a job they enjoy. We work with you to:
